Mission Statement

The mission of The GEANCO Foundation is to develop and manage world-class medical, educational and athletic facilities in the African country of Nigeria. Our projects will improve health conditions and learning opportunities for Nigerians and will allow for powerfully beneficial collaboration between Americans and West Africans for their mutual enrichment. Our first project is the development of a world-class hospital – Augustine Memorial – in Anambra State.

Thank you for your interest in our work. The statistics show the need for a world-class hospital in the heart of Africa. Look with your own eyes at the health situation there, and you will see the depth of their need. It is my fierce hope that you will join us in improving healthcare for Nigeria and for Africa as a whole.

Afam Onyema, a 30-year-old graduate of Harvard and Stanford Law, turned down six-figure offers in corporate law to build and run a $50 million state-of-the-art private hospital with a charitable component for the poor in southeast Nigeria."

The GEANCO Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. All donations made to the GEANCO Foundation are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
